Now, I am an author!
After nearly two years in preparation, our first Chinese quilling book << Quilling Times>> is finally published. It is written by Jie Zhao, Xueting Wu and me.
Big thanks to my editor, Mr. Tian from Qingdao Publishing Group, who gave us this valuable opportunity and supported us during the whole process.
We also would like to give thanks to The Quilling Guild (http://quilling-guild.weebly. Com) and Philippa, who allowed us to adapt in our book the official chart “Quilling Techniques and International Quilling Terminology” section of the official Members’ Handbook issued by The Quilling Guild, enabling us, for the first time, to unify and translate the related quilling terms in Chinese.
Our book has three chapters:
I. General quilling (the book section I authored)
Gives full guidance about how to start your quilling journey, such as how to choose and use paper and tools, how to make a suitable background, how to make good shapes coils, how to arrange individual parts and generate a proper quilling painting, and much more.
II. Graphic quilling
Graphic quilling is a different method. Jie Zhao tried his best to explain every detail about how to “Glue the lines” from choosing paper and tools, until making a draft and the final creation.
III. Family quilling
Xueting Wu is a primary school teacher. She understands parents and children very well, and provides tips and fun tutorials for family quilling events to ensure your beloved little ones are attracted by quilling.
